The data show thatincreased levels of socialand technical control are associated with increasedworkerengagement in formal courses, informaleducation(mentoring) and non-taughtlearning.This researchhas implications for jobdesign thatincludesreal and meaningfulopportunitiesfor workerinputandagencyintotheir own tasksandbroaderorganizational decision-making.
